At long last, Popboomerang Records has released The Sunshine Ponies’ record Mixtapes & Soundtracks. The record is a labour of love for Popboomerang main-man Scott Thurling, The Sunshine Ponies being a gathering of Scott’s musician friends who wrote and performed the music to poems and lyrics supplied by Scott and his partner, Sarah.
Mixtapes & Soundtracks was released just a short few weeks ago and features 22 songs , including “A Beautiful Mess” featuring Angie Hart and Bill McDonald. Bill and Angie performed together during Shape-era Frente, and more recently have joined forces on Bill’s Four Hours Sleep records.
The Sunshine Ponies are well worth checking out not only for Angie’s participation, but simply because it’s a damn good record and a wonderful collection of miscellaneous Australian artists.
